Flying with Pets
Animals will only be accepted at the check-in counter provided the owner is traveling with the animal.
- A mandatory reservation for the pet is required.
- Pets are carried as checked or cabin baggage*, in a limited number and according to space availability.
- Payment of a pet transportation fee is required.
Note: The cage must be made of material other than metal, well ventilated, without any offensive odours as determined by the carrier and may contain 1 pet only. The container size must permit the pet to be able to stand and turn.
* Cabin pets – 5kg max (bag + animal):
- All flights to Canada, solely on the ATR plane, 50 € per flight.
- Flights to Paris, 50 € per flight.

Rules regarding import and reintroduction of domesticated carnivores to Saint-Pierre and Miquelon:
Domesticated carnivores (dogs, cats, ferrets) being imported or returning to the islands must:
- Be identified (visible tattoo or microchip).
- Travel with any and all completed official identifying documents.
- Be vaccinated for rabies.
- Fulfill all applicable sanitary requirements showing that the animal is safe guarded against any infectious disease other than rabies:
- A certificate of “good bill of health” issued no more than ten (10) days prior must be presented as part of the importation of the animal to the islands ;
- This certificate of “good bill of health” is no longer required for animals returning from a stay of no more than two (2) months within Canada or the European Union.

Important: Import of dogs of “1st category”, notably similar in race characteristics as the following breeds : Staffordshire terrier, American Staffordshire terrier (pitbulls), Mastiff (boerbulls), Tosa, is prohibited in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon.
