Carry-On Luggage

• One small carry-on luggage is allowed in addition to a personal effect (i.e.: purse, computer bag, etc.). This luggage should fit the template of 56cm x 40cm x 25cm and should not exceed a weight of 5 Kilos.
• If the luggage does not fit the template, it will be checked-in as a regular luggage.

Carry-On Luggage – Security Measures

Air Saint-Pierre advises customers to keep in mind the security measures when preparing to travel.

The maximum quantity of liquids, gels and aerosols permitted in carry-on luggage is 100ml/100g (3.4 oz.) per article. These items must be placed in one clear, closed and re-sealable plastic bag no larger than one litre (one quart). There is a limit of one bag per person, which must be removed from carry-on luggage and placed separately in a screening bin at airport security.

Unsealed, open, coloured or opaque plastic bags of any size with liquids, gels or aerosols in containers of any size will not be permitted through pre-boarding security screening in carry-on luggage. Similarly, liquids, gels or aerosols in containers larger than 100ml/100g (3.4 oz) will not be permitted through security screening as carry-on.

Passengers with connecting flights are advised not to purchase liquids or gels in containers over 100ml/100g (3.4oz) at duty-free, if they do not have access to checked luggage between connecting flights or room in their checked luggage to pack their duty-free purchases before re-checking their bags for their next flight.

Due to heightened security screening by authorities, it is recommended that customers reduce carry-on luggage as much as possible.

Checked-In Luggage Allowance

• One (1) checked-in piece of luggage of 23 kg per person on all international flights to and from Canada, as well as our direct flights to and from Paris, including flights connecting on to Air France flights in Montreal (except Air France Business or Premium class passengers for whom the allowance is 30 kilos). For flights to and from the Magdalen Islands, this allowance (23kg) must be divided into two (2) smaller pieces of luggage as the flight is serviced by our Cessna F406.
• All infants (less than 2 years old) flying on their parents’ lap have a 10 Kg allowance (and/or a small additional luggage).
• All luggage over the authorized limit will be accepted upon space availability and a charge will be levied as follows:

Lost or damaged luggage

Air Saint-Pierre will not be held accountable for delayed, missing or damaged luggage unless checked in directly with:

• Air Saint-Pierre counters in St. John’s (YYT), Halifax (YHZ), Montreal (YUL), Magdalen Islands (YGR) ;
• ASL counters in Paris (CDG) – Terminal 3 – for direct flights Paris/St-Pierre ;
• Air France counters (Paris and provinces) and only with passengers traveling under a single Air France ticket via Montreal with FSP as the final destination.

Marks, scratches or missing wheels (etc.) are normal wear and will not be part of any claim or settlement. Luggage with a unit weight exceeding the allowed allowance and luggage already damaged at the time of check-in will not be considered for any claim.

Musical Instruments

Air Saint-Pierre accepts musical instruments as checked-in or carry-on luggage as long as they are properly packed with limitations on excessive weight, size and shape. For oversized instruments such as cellos and guitars, it is strongly advised to contact the airline to insure that space is available and that they can be accepted on the flight.

A seat may also be purchased to accommodate larger instruments upon request.

As a carry-on luggage

Smaller instruments (violin, trumpet, flute, clarinette) may be brought on the flight as a carry-on luggage so long as :

• They are adequately protected in a hard case ;
• They are under 5 kg ;
• They can be stored under the seat in front of you or in the overhead compartment.

As a checked-in luggage

Each instrument will count as a piece of luggage under our luggage policy.

If your instrument is over 23 kg, excess luggage fees will apply up to the allowed maximum weight of 32 kg.
